The Star Magic and Abs-cbn teen actor AJ Perez died yesterday around 12:20 in the morning. The death of AJ Perez really saddened me because he’s really a good actor and he is just starting his big break in showbiz. In fact, he’s got a lot of upcoming projects this year which includes the reported movie team up with the Mara Clara star Julia Montes.
Looking back, AJ Perez have done 10 movies in total. His first movie was Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo playing the role of Otap. That movie had a sequel which meant he reprised his role on the sequel. He was also seen in Bahay Kubo movie playing the role of Cholo’s(Rayver Cruz’) friend.
In 2008 he played the role of Jonie in Magkaibigan. He also starred in a musical film for Rexona entitled Kelly! Kelly! (Ang Hit na Musical). Was able to work with Sharon Cuneta and Ai Ai delas Alas in BFF (Best Friends Forever) as Miguel. Another supporting role in Ang Tanging Pamilya: A Marry Go Round with Toni Gonzaga.
Last year, he has done 3 films Babe, I Love You as Gian, played a lead role together with the Giggerboys Robi Domingo and Sam Concepcion in Cinco and played the twin brother of the twins played by Andi Eigenmann in Mamarazzi (in case you didn’t know, they were triplets on that film).
Cinco was the funnest among his movies considering it’s a fun horror movie. AJ played the role of Andrew which is of bad-boy character. He had a lot of screen times and lines on this movie aside from being also a badboy in Mamarazzi.
I remember AJ Perez wearing an angel costume in Mamarazzi and he really looked like an angel there. I never thought he’d really become an angel at 18. I mean, sayang, he’s just too young (a year younger than me) and most of his fans(that includes me), friends and even relatives find it hard to accept his death because of that.
Hmm..another thing, the association with the late Rico Yan is really creeping me out. Both have died within the Holy Week and the two were La Sallista’s; they almost have the same charming looks. . .well, people might be over-thinking but this comparison is however, debatable yet inevitable given that Filipinos are really into the game of connecting the dots. Even Mr. Johnny Manahan have once said “If he gets the right breaks, he’d be like a Rico Yan.”
I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to the family of AJ Perez.
According to the family, supporters and fans are welcome to visit AJ Perez remains at the La Salle Greenhills chapel in San Juan from 9 p.m. to 12 midnight starting today. Farewell, AJ!
