Around December last year, a rumor spread about Sharon Cuneta, Judy Santos and Sarah Geronimo uniting in a film.It was when Mr. Alfie Lorenzo said that Mr. Vic del Rosario (VIVA films) had always called him to ask if Judy Ann Santos is ready to do a movie with Sharon Cuneta and Sarah Geronimo.A good response was welcomed but no developments were announced. . .

I think that movie reportedly entitled “Magkakapatid” was put on hold for some reasons. The script for that might have been re-written to bill a new set of stars Sarah, Ann and Vice for a 2011 movie entitled “Two and a Half Sisters“.The script is said to be penned down  by Mr. Joey Abacan of GMA films. On the second thought, I wonder if the script is ready though?! O.o

This notion got into me because of the similarity of the concept of the “Magkakapatid” and “Two and a Half Sisters” – these are both family movies, probably dramedy, which talks about sisterhood.Well, I’m not really sure of that but I’ll let you know if they happen to have some clarifications about this matter.

So anyway, Magkakapatid movie is quite an impossible project  because Star Cinema issued a response to an alleged rift between them and the singer actress Sarah Geronimo hinting for a sequel for this year’s Catch Me…I’m in Love.

“The issue pitting Star Cinema against Sarah Geronimo is not true. A new movie project for her this year is in development already and another one set for 2012,”.

I’d like to think that her 2012 movie will be the 3rd installment of A Very Special Love! :p

Judy Ann Santos on the other hand will return to the big screen with Coco Martin, Gina Pareno and Maja Salvador on a still untitled movie. And Sharon Cuneta will be busy filming her first ever horror film. Also, the mega star said in an interview that..

“Kung pagsasamahin kaming tatlo, sana worthwhile ‘yung project. Hindi porke’t kayong tatlo ‘yung magkakasama… hindi pwedeng kayo ‘yung magsu-shoulder ng responsibilidad lang. Sana maganda ‘yung storya, ‘yung irerespeto namin ‘yung audience namin, ‘di ba? Mag-iipon ng tiket para panoorin kami, sana maganda.”

So the movie “Magkakapatid” might not push through this year! Again, might not. But if so they’ll have time to shoot the film – I’ve heard the movie will be released for MMFF 2011 this December.
