Primetime TV princess Kim Chiu is set to do a movie with the Star For All Season, Ms. Vilma Santos. The movie is entitled “The Healing” which was revealed earlier in our “Star Cinema movies” 2011 list. The Vilma Santos – Kim Chiu starrer is said to be about Filipinos strong belief in the power of alternative medicine – probably the likes of Albularyo (Village Healer), Shamans, witches and warlocks.

The Healing movie is going to be a horror-thriller film. A movie that is supposedly going to unite two of the most prominent and award winning actresses in Philippine showbiz. And they are no other than The Star for All Season  (Vilma Santos) and the Megastar (Sharon Cuneta). But apparently, Sharon Cuneta was replaced by Kim Chiu thus making changes on Chito Roño’s initial draft of The Healing’s story. According to reports, Vilma and Sharon’s schedules didn’t met.

That simply means Sharon Cuneta’s upcoming horror movie has been shelved but that doesn’t mean she won’t have any movie project. In fact, she will one again grace the big screen with her grand reunion movie with Gabby Concepcion and probably with their daughter KC Concepcion also.

So let’s go back to “The Healing“…

When Gov. Vilma Santos Governor was interviewed in Showbiz News Ngayon she said . .

“I find this something new unang una sa story. First time akong gagawa nito plus the fact na I will be doing a movie with Kim Chiu. Definitely that is something very important. At this point in time, what is important is chemistry plus a good project, a good director.”

Kim Chiu on the other hand humbly told SNN, “Masaya ako and excited ako. Something new din for me to do a horror movie under Star Cinema and to work with Governor Vilma Santos.”

The Healing movie is an upcoming horror film by Star Cinema to be directed by the Master of Filipino Horror Films director  Chito Roño.The movie is expected to be released early next year! 🙂 Probably Star Cinema’s opening salvo for 2012.

So are you excited for The Healing movie?
