Known for her silly but surefire comedy, actress Pokwang takes on a dramatic role and for the first time she’s the lead. Star Cinema, ABS-CBN Global Movies and The Filipino Channel offers “A Mother’s Story“; a touching story of an OFW who was an illegal immigrant in the US and went home empty-handed. But her struggles continue with conflicts that has scarred the hearts of her loved ones.
In an interview with PUSH, as a former OFW herself, Pokwang shared that she didn’t have much difficulty internalizing her character.
The indie film was partly shot in the US, while as the story progresses shots will eventually lead to the Philippines.
