The Filipino Channel and Star Cinema’s first collaborated movie, ‘A Mother’s Story’, topbilled by the tv host/comedienne Pokwang raked in P24.8-M in 2 Weeks, ranking 5th in the local box office race.

The first Filipino film to be released in the year 2012 made it with a good ticket sales in 2 weeks and I bet people would still be watching it in 2 weeks more. Top of the box office chart though is Kate Beckinsale’s Underworld Awakening grossing P37.9 in 4 days. Still, topping the all-time box office gross is the sequel to the hit period thriller film “Sherlock Holmes”, which reunites Sherlock and Watson in “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows” with P55.8-M on its second week.

As for “A Mother’s Story”, some people may say it’s a flop but consider that it’s been screened already abroad it’s definitely have gotten more out of its budget. Although reports about its international gross are nowhere to be found, garnering P24.8-M in 2 weeks and having been given a score “A” by CEB makes it successful movie. No, not flop!

A Mother’s Story is also starring Rayver Cruz, Nonie Buencamino and Xyriel Manabat. Still showing in theaters!
