Eugene Domingo is back on the big screen reprising her roles Kimmy and Dora Go Dong Hae in the sequel of the 2009 indie film “Kimmy Dora“. Now entitled “Kimmy Dora and The Temple of Kiyeme“, this film which was supposedly part of last year’s Metro Manila Film Festival is slated to hit theaters in the midway this year.

About 2 years ago Eugene Domingo made us nuts with her ace portrayal of characters Kimmy, the smart but domineering twin sister and Dora, Kimmy’s sweet, innocent but mentally retarded twin. Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme will still be directed by Joyce Bernal and Chris Martinez penned the film. But the selling point of this movie is still Eugene Domingo. And I believe she’s going to do well in this sequel especially now that she got a nod for Best Actress in the 2012 Asian Film Awards last Tuesday for the Independent film “Ang Babae sa Septic Tank”.

It was reported that aside from the movie’s lead character, supporting characters are going to be back as well.  In an interview, Eugene said that actors Dingdong Dantes, Ariel Ureta, Miriam Quiambao and  Zanjoe Marudo and his abs will be reprising their roles. But wait, on the sequel there’s going to be more cameo, most especially from the Kapamilya artists. Eugene Domingo somehow hinted that Gretchen Barreto’s might just do a cameo as she requested.

Kimmy Dora was considered to be the First and only Filipino movie to have lots of cameos from Filipino artists, the likes of Marvin Agustin, Christian Bautista, Mark Bautista, Vhong Navarro, Rufa Mae Quinto, Erik Santos, Aiza Seguerra, and Regine Velasquez (even Piolo, the producer himself in the after credits).

Although the film started as an independent movie. Spring Films, the film’s movie outfit have collaborated with the country’s biggest movie outfit, Star Cinema, to bring Kimmy & Dora in the big screen again!

Heard that they’re currently  shooting  Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme in Korea! 🙂

Can’t wait! How about you?
