Are Romance-omnibus movies going to be the next big thing in Philippine Cinema or Star Cinema just wanted to match Regal Entertainment’s “Ride to Love movie” with their omnibus romance film called “24/7 in Love“? Whatever it is, in the end of it all I believe everything’s going to turn out great. Of course, I will still reserve my judgement for the upcoming movies. But the thought that we’re trying out these types in mainstream filmmaking is actually a step forward in Philippine Cinema.

We have had horror-omnibus, if not mostly trilogies before. Check the longest running horror anthology Shake Rattle and Roll which is now on its 14th installment and Star Cinema’s Cinco among a few others. We’ve also had romance-omnibus films before like All About Love, Bcoz of U and My First Romance and they always seem refreshing. To be honest, I’m a big fan of omnibus films for it could amaze you how different directors can weave a story that is divided by segments or by themes.

Let’s go back to “24/7 in Love” movie. From the way it sounds it’s going to be a collection of love stories that all happened and ended in a day. It’s simply LOVE IN A DAY! It can be noted that Star Magic came up with a digital film for their 20th anniversary entitled “Anino” and was released last March in selected theaters. This time around we have “24/7 in Love” as Star Magic’s 20th Anniversary MOVIE offering that will make it’s grand debut in theaters on November 2012.

24/7 in Love is starring Gerald Anderson, Kim Chiu, Piolo Pascual, Sam Milby, Pokwang, Diether Ocampo, Bea Alonzo, John Lloyd Cruz, Angelica Panganiban, Maja Salvador, Zanjoe Marudo, Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, Zaijan Jaranilla and Xyriel Manabat. It will be directed by John-D Lazatin, Mae Czarina Cruz, Frasco Santos Mortiz and Dado Lumibao.
