Erich Gonzales stole the show with her terrific performance as Corazon in Richard Somes’ Corazon Ang Unang Aswang. Later this month she is set to play a typical yet romantically jaded Filipina baker named Joey in Rory Quintos’ Suddenly It’s Magic. From a seemingly light performance she will go to the dark side again next month with her indie film, a Cinema One Originals entry, “Mariposa Sa Hawla Ng Gabi“.
Yet another dark film from director Richard Somes who’s undoubtedly one of the finest visionary indie filmmakers today. The film’s title sounds like one of those classic Filipino movies they had ages ago, perhaps, in respect to Mario O’Hara’s Bulaklak ng City Jail, Lino Brocka’s Maynila Sa Mga Kuko ng Liwanag or even the director’s very own Corazon Ang Unang Aswang. Film titles that suggests a dark story with momentary streaks of light.
Mariposa (Sa Hawla ng Gabi) is about a tale of an innocent woman who unravels horrible truths while in search of her long lost sister in the city.
Cinema One Originals and Strawdogs Studio Production presents “Mariposa Sa Hawla ng Gabi” starring Erich Gonzales, Alfred Vargas, Mark Gil, Joel Torre, Ma.
