The expected top-grosser ‘Sisterakas’ revealed their first day gross of P40.7-million in the box office. With long queues building up at Cinemas it is evident that Sisterakas is really a tough contender in the Box Office. With the trifecta of Vice Ganda, Kris Aquino and Ai Ai delas Alas and Star Cinema’s highly effective marketing campaigns we are not surprised that Sisterakas is leading the MMFF 2012 box office.

Meanwhile, ‘Si Agimat, Si Enteng Kabisote at Si Ako’ raked P29.5 millin in the box office which is almost P10 million short compared to Sisterakas. Apparently, there are still people who are sold with Enteng Kabisote movies. On the third spot is the drama romance movie ‘One More Try’ with a P13.6 million box office gross.

And lastly, The Invasion Shake Rattle and Roll Fourteen went home with a P10.5 million on its first day. The box office grosses of the four other entries are yet to be announced but from the way it looks Sosy Problems and El Presidente are at the bottom 2. The problem I see with Sosy Problems is that it’s too conyo for the general audience to appreciate. As for El Presidente, Jeorge Estregan is anonymous to young audiences and these type of moviegoers generally sleeps during history class. Thy Womb has quite enough cult following primarily because of Nora Aunor and secondly its gotten positive critical reception among film critics and movie reviewers. The Strangers is also likely to gross more than the other three because of young stars Julia Montes, Enrique Gil and Enchong Dee.What do you think?
