The much awaited third chapter of the Laida Magtalas (Sarah Geronimo) and Miggy Montenegro (John Lloyd Cruz) love story is all set on Black Saturday, March 30, 2013. But with Filipinos being mostly Catholics, in observation of the Holy Week, will the movie “It Takes A Man and A Woman” get the box office gross they expect to have on its opening? Will the movie flop on its first day and redeem itself on Easter when it’s more apt to rejoice based on superstition? Well, we’ll see!
Ever since their first movie, A Very Special Love, the team up of John Lloyd and Sarah has proven to be a box office success. But when the sequel, You Changed My Life, happened and became the highest grossing Filipino movie of all time in 2009 and two were crowned as box office royalties. It must have been the pressure left by You Changed My Life in 2009 that it took Star Cinema and Viva Films 4 long years to make the sequel or the director’s lack of inspiration to write what’s next for the couple, but whatever the reason, I’m sure you couldn’t care less because this is the call we’ve all been ‘weytin’ for.
From ‘a very special love’ that both ‘changed their lives,’ Laida and Miggy will start to deal with their new selves in the same old company where their feelings started to blossom. The ex-sweethearts were transformed by the deeper emotional journeys that they both went through–from the simple and obedient executive assistant, the film reveals the braver, fiercer and career-oriented Laida; while the naughty bachelor Miggy will be seen now on a new phase in his life.
What were the trials that Laida and Miggy faced after their break-up? Is it really the end for their love story or will Laida and Miggy rediscover the magic of the ‘very special love’ they once shared?
The movie is also starring Joross Gamboa, Gio Alvarez, Matet De Leon, Al Tantay, Irma Adlawan, Guji Lorenzana, Rowel Santiago and Dante Rivero. The film introduces the model-host Isabelle Daza who will play the character of Belle, the socialite girlfriend of Miggy. Don’t miss the return of the most successful romantic-comedy movie series It Takes A Man And A Woman which will be shown on theaters nationwide on March 30, 2013.
